Microsoft Access 2.5 Jet Engine
PereSoft Cashbook for Windows requires that you have installed Microsoft Access 2.5 on your system. Although Cashbook installs this version into the program directory of Cashbook (e.g. C:\WINACCT), another application on your computer might have installed the older version into \WINDOWS\SYSTEM. If you get the message MS Access 2.5 is require before continuing, work around this by renaming the file name MSAJT200.DLL residing in \WINDOWS\SYSTEM to *.bak. You will then be able to continue with the Cashbook Setup program.

Please download and install the patch if you client is using MS Access 2.0. Microsoft did NOT include this patch with Office 95 or Office 97.
CRPE.DLL
If the message "Printing Cancelled " appears or the system hangs when opening any print dialog box when printing a report in Cashbook for Windows, you must copy the file called CRPE.DLL from \WINACCT into \WINDOWS\SYSTEM.
Path
When interfacing Cashbook for Windows with ACCPAC for Windows ensure that the path in AUTOEXEC.BAT includes \CA_APPSW and \PLUSWIN\RUNTIME. To ensure that CBW has correctly picked up this path, type SET at the DOS prompt.
Using Cashbook with SQL Server
When using Cashbook with SQL Server interfacing with Accpac for Windows, you must install a patch from Accpac International that stops A4W locking Cashbook out of the SQL Server database. This patch is located at ftp://ftp.peresoft.co.za/files/sqlpatch.zip. Read the readme that comes with this patch to install the files correctly. NOTE: If you do NOT install these files correctly, Cashbook will keep giving you timeouts.
Bank Codes
If you are interfacing CBW with ACCPAC for Windows Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable, you must ensure that the bank codes created in Cashbook correspond to the bank codes in Bank Services. When creating banks in CBW and enter a bank account that does not exist in A4W, you will be warned by not stopped, as you might require a standalone bank.
Changing the Paper Size
Although CBW lets you save a different printer for all print functions, you are not able to save the paper orientation, etc. The solution to this is:
1. Add a new printer (you can add as many duplicate printers as you require) in Settings|Printers (in Windows). Set this printer's paper orientation to what you require.
2. Go into Cashbook and select from the main menu Printer|Setup and select the new printer you have just added.
All Cashbook reports will now default to this new printer.
Installing from an NT Workstation
When running Setup from an NT Workstation you might get the error message Invalid path when trying to accept the install path. This is because NT requires an extra \ at the end of the path. Therefore enter c:\winacct\ when promted for the installation path.
